Why should I use the Christian Business Phone Book instead of the “generic” yellow pages?
As Christians, we should all support other Christian businesses. Galatians 6:10 teaches us that “Whenever possible do good to all people, but especially to those in the family of believers.” Bottom line….dollars spent with a Christian based business goes back to serving the Lord through tithes, offerings, missions, etc.
I keep hearing that nobody uses phonebooks anymore. Don’t most people today go to the internet to find what they are looking for?
First of all let me say that that we use various platforms to connect Christian consumers with Christian businesses and Print is just one of those platforms. Our directories are also online just like on the website you’re looking at now, as well as on your phone with our “search engine” mobile app which you can download for free from your favorite app store. As far as print directories, I’ll be the first to admit that “generic” phone books are on a steep decline, HOWEVER, specialty directories, like “The Christian Business Phone Book” are going stronger than ever. As far as using the internet to find a Christian based business, the problem with most search engines, like google, bing, yahoo etc., is that they are not “faith based”. If you google “Christian Plumber” you’re more likely going to get plumbers named “Christian” or plumbers from Christian, KY but you’ll have a difficult time finding a faith based Christian plumber on any search engine. That’s why we are in print, but we are also online as well as on your phone. In other words, we want Christian consumers to find the Christian business they are looking for no matter what advertising platform they use.
How do I get my own copy of the directory?
Of course our online directories are on our website for your convenience, however if you are looking for one of our print directories you can find them throughout your coverage area. Besides picking up a copy at your local church, which we distribute as many free copies as they want for their members, you can also pick up books at any of the businesses listed at “Pick-Up Points” page on this site. They are free and stocked continually throughout the year. You can also call or email us on our “contact page”.
How do you know that advertisers are true Christians?
We are the first to admit that a “Profession” of Faith is not the same as a “Possession” of Faith and needless to say, we are NOT the final judge, however, we believe it is our responsibility to do all we can to ensure that the advertisers in the directory are Christian in Faith. We do ask ALL advertisers to read and sign a”Profession of Faith” and “Business Ethics Agreement” that is printed on page 4 of our directory and on the “About Us” page on our web site. By signing the Profession of Faith, the advertiser is making a statement of their Faith, a step that is missing in secular Yellow Pages….more than just putting a “fish” or a “cross” in their ads.
What if a company from the directory does not live up to the “Profession of Faith” and “Business Ethics Agreement” that they signed?
We appreciate you letting us know, either by phone or email, of any unacceptable work or behavior you have witnessed. We take this very seriously and will investigate any and all responses we receive to determine what action needs to be taken. We will take your experience into consideration when renewing them the following year.
How much does it cost to list my church or ministry in the directory?
We list all Christian churches in our Church Guide free of charge in the yellow page section (We do NOT sell any display ads to churches … we don ‘t believe pitting churches against each other for ad space honors God). We also give any Christian Non-Profit organization a free full page ad to share about their ministry.
What is the process to advertise?
Call or email us and a sales representative from your area will contact you to set up a time to meet in person and discuss what kind of advertising program would work best for you.
